In 2015, a gathering of scholars, historians, diplomats and family convened in Kabul to inaugurate the Kakar History Foundation — an institution born from a singular devotion to Afghanistan’s historical record.
Milestones
The founding ceremony marked the formal beginning of the Foundation’s work: adopting its mission and vision, unveiling a commemorative plaque inscribed in Pashto, Dari, and English, and presenting the first republished volumes of Professor Kakar’s own writings to the assembled guests.
